BeautyCounter is an MLM and direct sales platform for beauty products in the United States and Canada.
It is one of those MLM and direct sales companies offering a business from home opportunities to residents mentioned above.
The biggest question to ask is, can it stand to its claim? First off, before you join any company, you have to dig deep, do your research and collect as much information as you can.
Study the products they sell and see whether you can be an effective seller of that specific product. Take your time and never rush into deciding to join.
I am offering this review so you will get the full information of this company and hopefully will guide you in making an educated decision.

What is BeautyCounter?
Even if how good you are in selling, there are items that you cannot sell, mainly because it is not within your league or expertise. It is also about the product you are selling.
Going back to this website, they sell personal care products, toners, masks, makeup removers, scrubs, and body wash, soothing baby oil, cleansers and a lot more within the same industry.
The Founder
It is founded by the famous Gregg Renfrew, in the year 2013. Her main goal in creating this website is to give opportunities to women to earn money at the comfort of their homes.
The products you are about to sell here are getting good reviews from users, thus giving you a right edge from other companies or sellers selling products.
I believe I already provided you a good and enough pitch about the product and other things you need to know to start with this platform.
How Does it Work?
So, let us go through the registration process. There are two methods for you to register and become an official consultant, first is to look for a consultant within your area or nearest you and sign up with them, and second, just the like the usual, go directly to their website and register.
Either way is valid, as long as you are dealing with a legitimate consultant or the official website. After you accomplished filling out an application, you will be required to pay $85.
The fee covers enough for you to start with, it includes the creation of your website, customer support, marketing materials and training platform customized to your needs.
This offer is only available for the people in Canada and the United States. If you are not living anywhere the two countries, then you have no choice but to wait for Gregg to open the opportunity in your country.
Compensation Structure
- Direct Sales
After you successfully register, you can start selling their products to others. Basically, you will get 25% commission as a new consultant and up to 35% commission as you go higher through the ranks of every product you sell.
- Multi-Level Marketing
Your income will increase if you were able to build your team of consultants. Inviting them to register and sell products can give you between 5-9% commissions out of their successful sales.
These are the ranks and levels of payment, and you have to reach senior manager rank to get all four levels.

Meaning, whether or not you are selling their products on your own, you can still get commissions and earnings from the team you built and sales of consultants you invited to join.
You do not need to worry though about not being able to be successful, since you will be given a designated mentor that will help and guide you all throughout the process, and there is training available to get you up to speed. In short, you will be fully equipped with things you need to succeed.
Do not be too complacent though of not making a sale, as this website just like any companies on direct sales, has a minimum quota that you should meet to keep your consultant role active.
- To stay active, you are required to make 1200 in QV or Qualifying Volume every 6 months. Do not feel discouraged, as achieving the quota is easy as long as you give your effort and work hard.
Once you become a consultant, you will be given an option to choose between their three starter kits.
- The first one is the skin care classics, worth $218, the kit includes balancing collection and the face collection which cost $317 in retail, giving you an automatic 41% savings.
- The second one, which is a bit more expensive than first is the ultimate face collection worth $419. The kit includes body butter, and charcoal cleanse bar, body oil and more products that should cost you $731 when purchased in retail.
- And lastly is the kit that can give you a good kick off starting your business, the ultimate head to toe collection, costing $723.
From the last kit, you can save an instant 42% on all the products included in the kit is around $1250 when purchased in retail.

So, Just Like the Usual Question Asked, is Beauty Counter an MLM?
For me, it is certain, since they have four levels of commissions from their team or downlines, whatever you may call it as such, but Beauty Counter a is not a pyramid scheme because they have a product.
Although you can earn more if you invite people to become consultants, yet, you can still make an income as long as you are sealing sales successfully.
By the way, to add on the registration fee and starter kit you need to purchase to become a consultant, you are required to pay $50 yearly to keep your post.
Is this Website or Online Business Opportunity for Everyone?
Maybe not, since not all are successful selling products to others, especially if the product has a bit of gender preference.
My take on this is that women, which anyway is the primary target of Gregg to help, have better chances to succeed in this business opportunity, yet, men can still try it, and nothing is wrong about it, I would think.
Each official consultant will be given marketing tools and training materials and assistance they need to succeed in this business.
The success for both men and women is dependent on the marketing strategy they will use to sell the products and how hardworking they are convincing people not just to buy the product but become an official consultant.
Conclusion
This platform is legitimate, and you can make money from either direct selling or through the MLM part, but this is not for everyone. There are people who are scared of customer contact, I myself is one which I have to admit.
You are also limiting yourself. I think it is better to have your website and be an affiliate of whatever product you desire, not only BeautyCounter products, and of course, you are not limited only to beauty products niche.
You don’t face customers, no direct selling, you can avoid MLM, and it is the real online business that you own.
My #1 recommendation costs only $49 a month without any upsells. You can host 25 domain name websites for free with free SSL ( this alone is a business idea for you to serve your clients).
It will teach you everything from building a website, choosing your niche, and run the business itself. You also have the support of over a million online entrepreneurs willing to help each other.
It is discounted to $19 for the first month, and by the way, you can join for free to try it out without credit cards.
